James O’Brien Receives Young Investigator Award

The PSTP is pleased to announce that James O’Brien, a research-year student in the program, was recently recognized as a recipient of the Young Investigator Award by the Society for Redox Biology and Medicine (SfRBM). This award was made available to students and postdoctoral fellows based on a submitted abstract and the presentation of their work at the annual meeting.

James’ research was titled “Nitro-oleic acid attenuates aerobic glycolysis and effector function in murine macrophage.”

“It was exceptionally rewarding having our hard work from the Wendell and Freeman lab recognized by the SfRBM Junior Awards Committee. I am immensely grateful to the PSTP for facilitating this wonderful opportunity to present my research to an international audience of distinguished scientists.”
