Although the 2020 University of Pittsburgh Physician Scientist Training Program’s Virtual Research Showcase differed from the 11 previous occurrences, the October 15 event still allowed PSTP students to present their work to a diverse audience of medical students, faculty, and friends of the program. Twenty-seven presenters, ranging from MS1s to MS3s, divided into four different breakout rooms based on their research interests: neuroscience (room 1), genetics/cardiology/ endocrinology (Room 2), surgical research (Room 3), and cancer/immunology/microbiology (Room 4). Dozens of guests rotated through the breakout rooms as the session progressed!
The 2020 showcase was planned by MS1s Shweta Kitchloo and Maddie Ross as well as research year students Vaidehi Patel and Breanna Nguyen. Stay tuned for information about the 2021 event (expected date: October of 2021)!
