Rashmi Rao Awarded AHA Scholarship

Rashmi Rao, a 2020 Cornell University graduate and current PSTP research year student,  was recently selected to receive the Student Scholarship in Cardiovascular Disease from the American Heart Association (AHA).  Her project is titled “The role WTAP-mediated m6A methylation of IFI16 transcripts in pulmonary hypertension.” She will be conducting her research in the Vascular Medicine Institute under the mentorship of Dr. Stephen Chan, MD, PhD.

“I am excited to embark on my PSTP research year to study the molecular mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of pulmonary hypertension with the support of the AHA scholarship. I am also looking forward to furthering my scientific skills and advancing my professional development to help me achieve my career goal of becoming a physician-scientist.”
