MS1 Katherine Du Presents Work at National Conference

Katherine Du, a 2022 Yale University graduate and first year PSTP student, presented her summer research project titled "EEG Changes Correlated with Ischemia Across the Sexes in Carotid Endarterectomy" at the 2022 IEEE Signal Processing in Medicine and Biology Symposium in Philadelphia, PA. She used computational methods to analyze sex differences in quantitative EEG signals for patients experiencing ischemia (lack of oxygen) to the brain during carotid endarterectomy procedures, finding that women are more likely to experience ischemic events during this surgery.

Katherine is thankful for the support of the PSTP community and is eager for her future computational research pursuits!
