Max Lohss Receives Research to Prevent Blindness Grant

Research to Prevent Blindness (RPB) recently granted the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine an RPB Medical Student Eye Research Fellowship to fund the work of PSTP student Maxwell (Max) Lohss. Max will conduct his project in the Department of Ophthalmology under the mentorship of Leah Byrne, PhD. His project is titled “A multi-layer injector system for epiretinal delivery of AAV gene therapy vectors.”

The 2020 University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering graduate is passionate about combining bioengineering and medical device design with his research. In his free time, Max enjoys building personal projects, working on bikes, and spending time with friends.

The PSTP family is excited to learn more about Max’s research over the next few years!
