Research Title/Research Topic: Implantable device for cell based treatment of type-1 diabetes
Current Research Description: I propose to design, fabricate, and characterize implantable plastic device to culture cells. I hypothesize that creation of this implantable device out of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) plastic layers and medical grade pressure sensitive adhesives will result in a biocompatible cell culture device as tested by cytotoxicity and cell viability assays.
