On May 13, Sridula Kallakuri (Research year) and Caroline Crone (MS1) presented their work at the University of Pittsburgh’s 24th annual Simmons Surgery Research Day.
Sridula’s oral presentation was titled “Implications of the Treg-IL-13-Macrophage Axis on Chronic Rejection after Heart Transplantation.” She conducts her PSTP research in the lab of Heth Turnquist, PhD. Her work was recognized as one of two Oral Presentation Runner Up Awards!!
Caroline’s clinical research project, presented as a poster, was titled “Geographic Disparities of Breast Cancer Surgical Care for Women Veterans.” Her mentor for this project was Erin Bayley, MD.
